The propane markets finally offered propane consumers some rare good news this week- pulling back almost 6 cents per gallon at major exchanges like Mont Belvieu and Conway.
That’s good news, but propane prices are still at historic highs having experienced a near constant rise in price since the end of August. In fact propane prices remain at rates that are nearly double what they were last year.
Perhaps the most worrisome trend emerging in propane markets is the lack of transparency into propane exports. Propane is being shipped overseas at 3x-4x rates just a few years ago. There is a real reason to be concerned that inventories could be seriously compromised by this.
Still- we’re happy to report this rare good news and we hope it continues!
